Piikalama led the Research and Development phase of Hawaii Healing Food™ and Taro Dream™ and was instrumental in developing and formulating shelf-stable poi-based recipes including a patented, proprietary process for the company’s products. As a native Hawaiian born during WW2 and raised in the post war years on the island of Kauai, Piikalama’s family grew and made poi from taro grown in their own spring fed fields while living a mostly subsistence lifestyle centered on fishing and planting their own vegetables and fruit orchards. He has owned and managed a number of successful businesses over the past 30 years including organic farming and commercial fishing. Mr. Boiser is a graduate of the University of Denver, School of Business Administration.
